Some news and a new writing project

Happy to hear that my keynote speech on reconsidering mapping and elements of a possible new mapping system and way of measuring events in time that is more communal and based on free software went well at In Transition 2008.

Looking forward to my talk at UCSB on Nov 5th on locative narrative and some of my other work.

I may have a publisher for a book too. Will see what develops.

Working on stories for Kate Pullinger's "Flight Paths" project. She is looking for other writers to contribute if anyone wishes to jump in on this fascinating networked novel that incorporates multiple types of media.

Also working on a new series of fiction based on and structured after rules and concepts within meteorology.

Started the blog project "Meteotics" here on blogspot to begin a long experiment. Wondering if it is possible to do research on larger concepts within art and science simultaneously by establishing a sort of dialog and dialectic between multiple disciplines (fine art,new media, locative media, graphic design, sound art, fiction, critical theory etc..) to utilize dynamics within each discipline over time.

Will see what comes of it.
